Now you see her, now you don’t. That’s the way it’s been with Casey Carlson and “American Idol.” The 20-year-old University of Minnesota undergrad was one of the most buzzed-about “Idol” wannabes after her Kansas City audition aired last month on Fox. Since then, we’ve caught only glimpses of her on the show.
That all changes tonight, when Carlson takes to the stage to perform for America’s votes and a possible spot in the top 12 (7 p.m.).

Had some interesting tidbits leftover from an interview I did with local “American Idol” contender Casey Carlson last week. Some of our conversation went into today’s profile (yes, I did ask about those hot bikini photos). The extras are down below. And we should mention this Web site — with videos of her singing some tunes and personal pictures — that was put together by an anonymous group of folks who say they’re a mix of Carlson’s friends and former classmates.

Eden Prairie’s own Casey Carlson is in the final 36 of American Idol.
Carlson is a 2006 Eden Prairie High School graduate who participated in EPHS Theater and was one of the Valedictorians of her class. In 2004, she served as a student commission member for the City’s Arts and Culture commission.
